Kimberly Carter, MD

Bio

Dr. Carter completed undergraduate studies at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, and obtained a graduate degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. She graduated from Baylor College of Medicine where she stayed to complete her residency training. While at Baylor she was inducted in Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.

She moved to Austin after residency and was in private practice until joining the University of Texas Southwestern Austin Programs. She has been selected as a Best Doctors in America®. Best Doctors, Inc. and has received the National Patient's choice award in 2008 and 2009. She is very active in the Austin community and sits on several boards including Physicians for Social Responsibility, the Texas Medical Association Insurance Trust and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Her research focus is on the prevention of teen pregnancy and she has a special area of interest in treating vulvadynia. She is married to Paul, a software engineer, and they have two children and a home full of pets.
