New Seton Psychiatric Emergency Department To be Opened in Spring
December 3, 2013A new Seton Psychiatric Emergency Department designed to treat adults from throughout the community who suffer from psychiatric crises will open at UMC Brackenridge in the spring. "As with the rest of Texas and the U.S., Travis County does not have enough properly equipped facilities to meet psychiatric patient needs, but this new facility is a good and much-needed step forward," said Jesús Garza, Seton president and chief executive officer....
Survey Unveiled at Dell Childrens Finds Dangerous Toys on Store Shelves
November 26, 2013Dangerous or toxic toys can still be found on America's store shelves, according to Texas Public Interest Research Group's 28th annual "Trouble in Toyland" report. Unveiled at a Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas news conference, the report found choking hazards, toy magnets that can cause serious injury if swallowed and toxic chemicals in toys which can have adverse health impacts on the development of children....
