FAQ

What is Seton Cares?

Seton Cares is our annual employee giving campaign, which takes place from Oct. 24 through Nov. 11, 2016, during which you can make your 2017 pledge to support the Seton programs you care about the most — all of which move our mission forward. When you participate in Seton Cares, you cultivate and grow a culture of generosity within our Seton family.

Why are we doing Seton Cares twice this year?

We received valuable feedback across the board to move Seton Cares back to the fall to align with benefits open enrollment dates. So that’s exactly what we did.

Please note that:

  • Payroll deduction pledges will not begin until January 2017, so you’re not “double giving” for 2016 — there is no overlap.
  • If you make a one-time credit card donation, the charge will occur immediately.
  • Monthly credit card donations can be set up to start in 2017.

How can I get a Seton Cares T-shirt?

If you donate at least $2 per pay period or $48 one time, you will be eligible to receive a free Seton Cares T-shirt while supplies last. We’ll have limited quantities on hand to check out at the events we host on site, so don’t delay in making your gift!

How do I pick up my free T-shirt?

Find and contact your Seton Cares site champion online at seton.net/seton-cares/contact/ to verify that we still have quantities in stock and to arrange a pickup time. In most cases, your site contact should have them on hand during your on-site events.

Who benefits from donations?

When you make a Seton Cares donation, not only are you providing care for people in the communities we serve, you’re also lending a hand to your colleagues. Donations can support a nurse scholarship endowment, build even better facilities that will transform care, assist our most vulnerable neighbors when they need it most during times of hardship, and so much more. Please visit our Fund Descriptions page for a complete list of giving options that you can support through Seton Cares.

How do I donate?

Donations can be made online or offline through payroll deduction, credit card, check or cash. It’s super simple — and fast. Make your payroll deduction or credit card donation online now!

Can I choose different payroll deduction types for different funds I’d like to support?

The MSC allows only one type of payroll deduction per associate. You can choose either one-time payroll deduction or recurring per paycheck payroll deduction for all funds you choose to support.

What are the payroll deduction dates for the 2017 calendar year?

To have your donation deducted from your paycheck in 2017, you must opt in to payroll deduction between Oct. 24 to Nov. 11, 2016. Payroll deductions will begin on the following dates:

  • One-time payroll deduction will occur on January 20, 2017.
  • Recurring per paycheck payroll deduction will occur 24 times beginning with the January 20, 2017, paycheck and ending with the December 8, 2017, paycheck.

Donations by credit card or check can be made throughout the year.

What is the minimum donation amount?

A $2 minimum is required for payroll deductions. There is no minimum amount for credit card donations.

Can Ascension associates, vendors, volunteers or non-associates make Seton Cares donations?

Please note: At this time, we are not able to offer payroll deduction for anyone except Seton associates.

What is a volunteer Site Champion?

Site Champions are associates who volunteer for the Seton Cares campaign. They are located at most of our facilities, and they play a major role in making our employee giving campaign successful. Site Champions arrange fun events, schedule Seton Cares speakers at meetings, lead all marketing efforts at their sites and answer any questions you may have. They are truly amazing, and we are so thankful they have chosen to champion Seton Cares!

How can I be a volunteer Site Champion?

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Seton Cares! Please contact the Seton Cares Team Lead at your location or affiliated location to get started.
