My Passion for Healthcare

Time with kids with disabilities has been an enjoyment of mine since I was a child and continues to this day. My service activities, undergraduate degree in Special Education, involvement in my church and daily practice of medicine reflects this and it is a continual source of challenge and joy to me. I love to educate my peers and families about elements of medical care for this group of kids. My favorite thing to watch is a family's maturation from initial acceptance of a disabling diagnosis to fully embracing and finding joy in their child/family's growth over time.

Services I Provide

  1. Management of spasticity
  2. Splinting and orthotics
  3. Mobility evaluation

My Clinical Focus

I provide inpatient care to children & families with acquired disability as a result of injury or illness. In the Rehabilitation Unit, I work with a team facilitating transition from hospital to home & community, teaching skills and adaptations that equip them for living with short or long term changes in function. My outpatient practice involves services to children with a variety of childhood onset disabilities. These too are team based services to optimize their function through medicine, therapy, equipment, surgery and counseling. My research has involved the safe use of botulinum toxin.
