My Passion for Healthcare

I wanted to become a psychiatrist after first reading Oliver Sack's best-selling book, "Awakenings," and I wanted to be a criminal forensic psychiatrist since first seeing the movie "Silence of the Lambs." I have spent years teaching these subjects, treating patients and serving as an expert witness in courts. In addition, I have a special interest in the interface between psychology and religion.

Services I Provide

  1. Clinical Psychiatric Evaluations
  2. Forensic Evaluations for Courts
  3. Forensic Evaluations for Attorneys

My Clinical Focus

I enjoy practicing and teaching psychiatry, especially its interface with other disciplines such as philosophy and ethics. I have always found that psychiatry, whether involving a minor stress or a major life event, frequently deals with the deepest questions of human existence. Whether evaluating a person experiencing depression, a disability assessment or a person charged with a serious offense, my approach is to treat every person with respect and dignity.
