My Passion for Healthcare

I have extensive experience in craniofacial orthodontics, and prior to joining Dell Children’s, I worked in two different hospitals in Chicago. I was also an assistant professor at University of Illinois at Chicago. One of my missions is to advocate for coverage for orthodontic treatment for children born with cleft and craniofacial conditions. I have met with Texas legislators and Medicaid administrators in the past years in an effort to improve orthodontic coverage and have co-written a new Medicaid policy that is waiting for legislative approval.

My Clinical Focus

I am one of a few craniofacial orthodontists in the U.S. who specializes in the treatment of cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial syndromes along with surgical orthodontic treatment of dental facial abnormalities. Oftentimes, newborn babies first see me and my team for nasal alveolar molding before the initial cleft surgery. Working closely with the craniofacial team and surgeons to ensure the best outcome possible for our patients is our main goal. I also provide orthodontic treatment to patients with special needs, those who have complex medical problems or have complex jaw problems.
