Tabitha Zamora, BSN, RN, Clinical Nursing Manager, Emergency Department and Operating, grew up in the small town of Luling and has a special place in her heart for her hometown hospital, Ascension Seton Edgar B. Davis (SEBD). “I have known the employees at Edgar B. Davis for a long time and the atmosphere and environment there makes you feel like you are at home.”
Tabitha is an incredible example of a nurse with a passion for learning and zeal for higher education. She began her medical career as a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked her way through nursing school to achieve her associate degree in nursing. In June 2013, she began work at SEBD as a graduate RN Resident, working and cross-training in various areas of the hospital, including the med-surg unit, the operating room and emergency department.
With support from the Nurse Scholarship Endowment, Tabitha earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington and upon graduation immediately enrolled in a master’s degree program to become a nurse practitioner, which she is currently pursuing.
In December 2018, just five years after completing her first nursing degree, Tabitha was promoted to manage SEBD’s emergency department and operating room service lines. She enjoys the small size of the hospital because it offers nurses the chance to work in many different departments in a supportive, caring environment.
