Credentialing and Privileging
The Medical Staff Office initiates the credentialing process that Seton Healthcare Family uses to privilege Advanced Practice Nurses and Physician Assistant Professionals. Credentialing and Privileging is the mechanism to ensure the provision of health care services is quality driven, by safe, efficient, and competent providers.
The orientation program is designed for all new Advanced Practice Nurses and Physician Assistants to guide them in the transition to the professional provider role at Seton Healthcare Family facilities and off-campus sites.
The Medical Staff Office oversees the credentialing process. Fundamental to this process is initial and ongoing competency evaluation. The Med Staff Office works in conjunction with providers to ensure compliance with mandatory focused professional performance evaluation (FPPE) and ongoing professional performance evaluation (OPPE).
Administration and Advanced Practice Providers work closely with the Revenue Integrity, Corporate Responsibility, business and finance managers, to ensure all Advanced Practice Providers are in compliance with State and Federal mandates.
