Welcome to Advanced Practice Nursing, Physician Assistant, and Allied Health information Center at Ascension Seton. The primary purpose of the information center is to provide support for existing and emerging practices of advanced practice nurses and physician assistant and Allied Health Professionals. This website serves as the primary point of contact for information related to the following:
Credentialing and Privileging
The Medical Staff Office initiates the credentialing process that Ascension Seton uses to privilege Advanced Practice Nurses and Physician Assistant Professionals. Credentialing and Privileging is the mechanism to ensure the provision of health care services is quality driven, by safe, efficient, and competent providers.
The orientation program is designed for all new Advanced Practice Nurses and Physician Assistants to guide them in the transition to the professional provider role at Ascension Seton facilities and off-campus sites.
The Medical Staff Office oversees the credentialing process. Fundamental to this process is initial and ongoing competency evaluation. The Med Staff Office works in conjunction with providers to ensure compliance with mandatory focused professional performance evaluation (FPPE) and ongoing professional performance evaluation (OPPE).
Administration and Advanced Practice Providers work closely with the Revenue Integrity, Corporate Responsibility, business and finance managers, to ensure all Advanced Practice Providers are in compliance with State and Federal mandates.
Legal and Regulatory Issues
Nursing Practice, Medical Staff Office, Accreditation, and Legal services are expert resources regarding interpretation and application of legal and regulatory rules and regulations pertaining to Advanced Practice.
