Everyone involved can feel lost and alone in the maze of health care. Imagine what it would be like to connect with your doctor or nurse or insurance company as easily as you text friends. Imagine knowing they are all actually connecting to each other on your behalf.
Can you imagine it? If so, join Ascension Seton in finding new ways to meet what may be the biggest global health care challenge: communication.
Through a new awards program – The Future of Care: Healthcare Innovation Awards –Seton, a member of Ascension, the nation’s largest nonprofit health care system, will recognize entrepreneurs and other trailblazers who are addressing key communication problems.
- How can we better connect physicians, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, caregivers, insurers, families and patients?
- How can we ensure secure access to up-to-date patient data?
- How can we change workflows so that new solutions are adopted in the health care system?
Nominate your company, or one you know, today. Nominations can be for solutions in hardware, software, services, digital health, health policy and law, care delivery, payment – or other areas not yet imagined. Entries are welcome from anywhere in the U.S. Watch Awards Selection Panel members describe the awards.
Application deadline is February 26. Awards will be presented at The Future of Care: Innovation Luncheon on April 27 in Austin. Prizes include mentorships and work sessions with clinical teams, innovation leaders and subject matter experts.
Why Seton? Why Now?
The innovative spirit is palpable in Austin. Ascension Seton, Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin and Central Health, the public health care district for surrounding Travis County, are partners in designing a new system for integrating health care delivery and a new center for medical research and treatment.
Seton’s new teaching hospital – Dell Ascension Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas – is where ideas will be tested and trials can lead to better treatments after it opens in spring 2017. It will be the place where collaborators with a bold vision will come together to care for people in the best manner possible. But in order to succeed at the highest level, the partnership must engage with entrepreneurs to rethink health care and imagine a different – and far better – future.
