Santa Claus made a special visit to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin to pose for pictures with infants in the hospital. He came to bring holiday cheer to parents and their babies born too early, too small in size, or too sick to go home for Christmas.
Newborns were all dolled up in holiday outfits for their very first picture with Santa.
NICU staff helped put on the event, which has been going on for more than a decade at the hospital. Nurses made ornaments for parents using their babies’ footprints. Each baby also received a gift for the occasion, a holiday hat, crocheted by long-time Ascension Seton volunteers.
