The topic is trending nationally and on Thursday, Jan. 23, Ascension Seton doctors will get the opportunity to weigh in on a conversation about concussions in sports.
Ascension Seton and KEYE-TV (Austin’s local CBS affiliate) will co-host a LIVE “town hall” discussion from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Ascension Seton Administrative Offices, next to Dell Children’s Medical Center. The event is open to the public, including parents, coaches, teachers and anyone in the community interested in hearing from Ascension Seton’s expert physicians. Associates who wish to participate are encouraged to attend or watch it live on the station’s website. If you miss the live stream, the recording will play following KEYE’s sport show on Jan. 25, at 10:30 p.m.
Dr. Michael Reardon, pediatric neurologist and medical director of the Concussion Center at Dell Children’s Medical Center, will represent Ascension Seton on the panel.
Other panelists include: Robert Jones, former all-pro linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys; Ryan Dolmanet, former Lake Travis High School football player and Beck Brydon, head football coach for the Regents School of Austin. Dr. Christopher Ziebell and Dr. John Bertelson will also contribute to the conversation. Additional doctors will participate in KEYE interviews and a live phone bank during the 5 p.m. newscast on Jan. 23.
