Our program offers physical therapy for both neurological and orthopedic patients and occupational therapy including hand therapy. Once a patient begins therapy, a member of our skilled staff gives each patient a thorough evaluation then hands-on, one-on-one treatment to create the most efficient service.
When it comes to occupational or physical rehabilitation, patient education is a vital part of the process. Staff members take the time with every rehabilitation services patient to describe their injury and the strategy designed to improve their condition.
The partner-therapist partnership is essential to each patients’ success. Therapists teach problem-solving techniques, give excercise programs, teach patients how to prevent and control their symptoms and ultimately assist each client in the healing process.
Occupational Therapy is often prescribed when a patient needs creative activity to promote recovery or rehabilitation following an accident or surgery involving broken bones or injuries to muscles. Here at Seton Southwest, one of our specialties is hand therapy.
Range of Services
Our services include orthopedic and sports injuries, ergonomic assessments, performing arts, neurological dysfunction, post-operative rehabilitation and wellness clinics.
Seton Southwest features new equipment such as the Newton Unloading System (shown here in the background). This machine allows patients to exercise while regulating the amount of force that is used during the activity in a weight-bearing position.
To help speed your recovery, we offer a wide variety of state-of-the-art equipment. In our spacious gym, therapists utilize Cybex equipment, free weights, pulleys and therapeutic balls. The therapists’ goal is to assist with pain management, posture awareness, improve function, range of motion, strength and to increase overall independence.
During or after your appointment, your therapist will sit down with you and discuss what they are finding as they evaluate your condition. You will discuss why certain problems are occurring, assess whether to continue physical therapy or if special services are needed and make follow-up appointments.
Following your appointment, you may call our department 324-9070 at any time should you have questions regarding your diagnosis or treatment.
For your convenience, Rehabilitation Services offers lockers and a changing room, bathroom and shower for patients to use following their appointments.
