Gina_BethuneRev. Gina Bethune – Director of Spiritual Care, Ascension Texas

Rev. Gina Bethune is endorsed and ordained by the American Baptist Churches, USA, and has been with Ascension Seton since 2002. She is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and CPE Supervisor through the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education.  Rev. Bethune holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Baylor University and Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Some of her favorite things are reading, travel, film, gardening, and decorating. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Seminary of the Southwest.

JacksonRev. Leigh E. Jackson – Manager of Spiritual Care, Ascension Seton

Rev. Leigh Jackson is endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and joined Ascension Seton in 2010. She is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Master of Divinity from Baylor University’s Truett Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work from Baylor University.  Some of Rev. Jackson’s favorite things are yoga, biking, good books (preferably with a cup of hot coffee and porch swing), and taking advantage of all of the good food and music that Austin has to offer.

PowellElizabeth Powell – Spiritual Care Specialist for Palliative Care, Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas

Chaplain Elizabeth Powell is endorsed by the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and joined Ascension Seton in 2009. She is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Davidson College, a Master of Arts in Counseling from Seminary of the Southwest, and a Certificate in Christian Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. In her free time Chaplain Powell enjoys reading fiction and poetry, hiking and spending time with her family.

Rachel Smith – Dept. Assistant for Chaplain Services and the CPE Department

Rachel Smith joined Ascension Seton with Chaplain Services in September of 2016 and then in 2018 took on the CPE Dept. as well.  Her main focus is her family with two wonderful children and five grandchildren.  She has been involved with ministry for many years whether it be singing or working with the children’s ministry.

SheehanKevin Sheehan – Chaplain Site Coordinator, Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin

Chaplain Kevin Seehan is endorsed by the Roman Catholic Church and joined Ascension Seton in 2004. He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the National Association of Catholic Chaplains and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master in Divinity. Chaplain Sheehan enjoys gardening, reading, and politics.

 

BerollRabbi Anna Gray Beroll – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin

Rabbi Anna Beroll is a Board Certified Chaplain through Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) and has been with Ascension Seton since 2011. Rabbi Beroll is affiliated with the Reform movement. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brandeis University and Master in Hebrew Letters and Ordination from Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion (Jerusalem, Israel and Cincinnati, OH). Some of Rabbi Beroll’s favorite things are reading, yoga, traveling, and spending time with her husband and son.

 

NorthcutRev. Andrea Mikala Northcut – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin

Rev. Andrea Northcut is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas and is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains. She joined Ascension Seton in 2010 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Samford University, a Master of Arts in Marriage/Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Rev. Northcut enjoys crafts (especially stamp art), being outside, and spending time with family.

Tommy Williams – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin

Chaplain Tommy Williams is endorsed by the Texas Baptist and joined Ascension Seton in September of 2016.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations/Political Science from Lynchburg University, and a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  In his free time Chaplain Tommy enjoys hiking, camping, sports and relaxing on the beach.

Fr. Athananasius Okeiyi – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin

Fr. Athan Okeiyi is a priest with the Catholic Diocese of Umuahia, Nigeria and he joined Ascension Seton in 2019.  Fr. Athan holds a Master of Divinity from Bigard Major Seminary, Enugu, Nigeria – an affiliate of the Pontifical Urban University, Rome.  Fr. Athan enjoys writing, music, poetry and graphic arts.

Rev. Catriona Broadway – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Shoal Creek

Rev. Catriona Broadway (Tina) is endorsed and ordained as a Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (PCUSA).  She joined Ascension Seton in November 2014, and is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains.  Rev. Broadway holds a Bachelor of Arts in French with Education from Stirling University in Scotland UK and a Master of Divinity from the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin Texas.  Some the of things Rev. Broadway enjoys outside of work are watching movies with her husband, reading books, walking and enjoying nature and spending time with friends and family.

Tim_ShermanRev. Timothy L. Sherman – Chaplain Site Coordinator, Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas

Rev. Timothy Sherman is endorsed and ordained by the Evangelical Free Church of America and joined Ascension Seton in 2005. He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Diploma in Pastoral Training from Moody Bible Institute, a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Languages from Grace College, and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. Rev. Sherman enjoys gardening and biking in his free time.

CabreraRev. Luis F. Cabrera – Chaplain, Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas

Rev. Luis Cabrera is endorsed by the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptists and joined Ascension Seton in 2008. He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Cabrera likes to run, hike, and fish during his free time.

 

FrankFather Frank Zlotkowski, C.S.C. – Chaplain, Ascension Seton

Father Frank Zlotkowski, C.S.C., was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest in 1976 and has been a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross for 48 years. He joined Ascension Seton in 2004 and is a Board Certified Chaplain through the National Association of Catholic Chaplains.  In his free time Fr. Zlotkowski enjoys cooking (and eating), hiking and snow shoeing (not much in TX) and learning about videography.

 

Rev. Evan Solice – Chaplain, Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas

Rev. Evan Solice is endorsed and ordained by Hope Chapel and joined Ascension Seton in 2018.  He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Exercised Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  In his free time, Rev. Solice enjoys exercising, playing music, hiking and spending time with his family.

Rev. Jonathan McBrayer – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Specialty Care Center

Rev. Jonathan McBrayer is endorsed with the Alliance of Baptists and a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains.  Jonathan holds a Master of Divinity from the George W. Truitt Seminary at Baylor University.  He joined Ascension Seton in March of 2016 as Chaplain of the Shivers Center.  Jonathan enjoys fitness, hiking, camping and reading.

Rev. Mark T. Holmes – Chaplain Site Coordinator, Dell Children’s Hospital

Rev. Mark Holmes is endorsed by the American Baptist Churches, USA and joined Ascension Seton in 2016.  Mark is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Baylor University, a Master of Divinity and Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Mark enjoys playing golf, cooking and baking gourmet cheesecakes.

Rev. Chris Dunn – Chaplain, Dell Children’s Hospital

Rev. Chris Dunn is ordained and endorsed by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains, and has been with Ascension Seton since 2013.  Chris has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  Some of Chris’s joys include the live music of Austin, practicing the art of Texas BBQ and playing corn hole.  Most of all he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.

Rev. Elizabeth Wallace- Chaplain, Dell Children’s Hospital

Rev. Elizabeth Wallace is endorsed and licensed by the Evangelical Church Alliance and has been with Ascension Seton since 2016.  She is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas.  She is also a licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and a licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas.  Rev. Wallace enjoys watching movies, traveling and spending time with friends.

Rev. Zachary Wheat – Chaplain, Dell Children’s Hospital

Rev. Zachary Wheat is commissioned and endorsed by the Federation of Christian Ministries.  Zack has a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Florida Southern College and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School.  Some of Zack’s joys include swimming, biking and running.

Rev. Dave Corna – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Williamson

Rev. Dave Corna is endorsed and ordained by the United Methodist Church and joined Ascension Seton in 2014.  He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Master of Arts in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care from the Episcopal Theological Seminary for the Southwest.  Rev. Corna enjoys running and spending time with his family, especially his 7 grandchildren in his free time.

Rev. Esme Peterson – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Williamson

Chaplain Esme Peterson is endorsed by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and joined Ascension Seton in 2014.  She is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Drama from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, a Master of Arts in Ministry from the Lutheran School for Theology at Chicago and a Certificate in Advanced Studies in Spirituality and Spiritual Direction from the Institute for Spiritual Leadership, Chicago.  In her free time she loves taking contemplative walks, spending time with family, friends, nature and the creative arts.

Father Tommy Sebastian, Chaplain, Ascension Seton

Father Tommy Sebastian is a Catholic Priest, ordained in India.  He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the National Association of Catholic Chaplains.  Father Tommy has been with Ascension Seton since 2014.  He has a Bachelor degree in Philosophy and Theology from Paurathya Vidyapitham, Kottayam, India and a Master in Theology from Pontifical Institute of Philosophy and Theology, Alwaye, India. He resides in Manor, TX where he is the Pastor of an Indian Catholic Parish.  He loves gardening, reading, music and enjoys to try all kinds of food.

RodriguezRev. George Rodriguez – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Hays

Rev. George Rodriguez is endorsed by The Wesleyan Church (Methodist tradition) and has been with Ascension Seton since 2009. He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Inter American University in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. Some of Rev. Rodriguez’s favorite things to do outside of work are reading, browsing through bookshops, sports (prefers participating over being a spectator), and being with family and friends.

 

Rev. Stephen C. Robinson – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Hays

Rev. Stephen Robinson is endorsed and ordained by the Christina Church (Disciples of Christ) and joined Ascension Seton in 2014.  Stephen is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and Plan II from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  In his free time, Stephen enjoys acting, singing, camping, playing guitar and piano, enjoying board games with family and queso.

BanarsiRev. Edward Banarsi – Chaplain, Ascension Seton Northwest

Rev. Edward Barnarsi is endorsed and ordained by the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod and has been with Ascension Seton since 1998. He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Bachelor in Philosophy, Master in Theology, and Master of Divinity from Christ the King Theological Seminary in Karachi, Pakistan, and Concordia University in Austin.  Rev. Barnarsi enjoys watching soccer, traveling, and being in nature.
