The Cancer Care Collaborative provides nutrition services by a registered and licensed dietitian. The dietitian works with patients before their cancer treatment to address specific nutritional needs and continues assessing these needs during and after cancer treatment. The dietitian can individualize a plan to help reduce symptoms associated with treatment, improve nutritional intake, and manage weight.
Karah Ray, MS, RD, CSO, LD, CDE
Karah Ray is the Clinical Dietitian for the Seton Cancer Care Collaborative. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in both nutrition and human ecology from the University of Texas. She later received a Master’s degree in nutritional sciences from Oklahoma State University. Ms. Ray completed various internship rotations at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, St. Anthony Hospital, Cooper Clinic, and the General Clinical Research Center. She was selected to complete a course at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center as a National Institutes of Health Summer Scholar.
Ms. Ray has practiced in outpatient community- based clinics, home health and home care settings. Ms. Ray provides education to address specific nutrition needs that occur before, during, and after cancer treatment, and creates individualized plans to help reduce symptoms associated with treatment, improve nutritional intake, and manage weight. Ms. Ray is a registered and licensed dietitian and a certified diabetes educator.
