Cancer Care Collaborative

Multidisciplinary Conferences

Seton Healthcare Family offers an innovative approach to treatment unlike anywhere else in Central Texas.

Through Multidisciplinary Cancer Conferences (MDCs), Seton connects a wide range of care providers – surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, dietician, research nurses, nurse navigators and other specialists – to review each patient’s case and develop individualized treatment recommendation based on national treatment guidelines. The MDCs are conducted in a conferencing setting, with state-of-the-art videoconference equipment available for remote access. The conferences are held on a regularly scheduled day at locations throughout the network. People must be referred by their oncologist in order to have their case presented in multidisciplinary conferences. If you would like your case to be presented, please talk to your doctor.

Types of cancers reviewed in MDCs include:

  • Blood cancers (leukemia/lymphoma)
  • Brain tumors
  • Breast
  • Gastrointestinal
  • Gynecologic
  • Head and neck
  • Liver and pancreas
  • Lung and thoracic
  • Pituitary
  • Skin
