Visiting Hours

General hospital visiting hours are from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., although visiting hours may vary throughout the hospital. The Care Team and/or Security may need to modify visiting hours to ensure full care of each patient. Please call the individual nursing units for specific information. The Emergency Department is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Guest Accommodations

League House

The Seton League House is an affordable boutique hotel near Seton Medical Center Austin, providing families a nearby place to stay while loved ones are hospitalized. The League House offers overnight accommodations at a reduced rate. In keeping with Seton’s mission to improve the health of those we serve with a special concern for the poor and the vulnerable, room rates are just $35 per night.

To make a reservation, please call (512) 324-1999 during our office hours. Since the number of rooms are limited, priority is given to families of critically ill patients at network facilities, outpatients from Seton facilities, and then families from other Austin hospitals. A limited number of rooms may be available for people having early morning medical exams or day surgery.

We strive to offer a comfortable and convenient place for our guests to stay so they can focus their attention on caring for their loved ones. Special comforts at our guesthouse include complimentary Wi-Fi and cable TV, rooms with two twin beds and private bathrooms, computer station and printer for medically related needs, coffee, green or black tea, hot cocoa, several tranquil outdoor sitting areas and free secure on-site parking.

Seton League House Hours
Office Hours:  Sunday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. and Saturday 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 a.m.

Office closed:  Sunday 3:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. and for occasional 30 minute breaks in the evening/morning.

If you are trying to check in and no one is available or answers the doorbell, please be patient, as Customer Service Associates could be helping someone in the facility and will return soon, or we could be closed for a 30 minute lunch/dinner break. We occasionally close between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.  Please come back in 30-60 minutes.

Upon arrival please check in at the office on the ground floor. Check-out time is Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., or you may drop your keys and payment in the drop box if the office is closed. If you have further questions please call (512) 324-1999.

Dining

The cafeteria is located on the center of the ground floor at the intersection of a personnel hallway and visitor hallway both of which lead to the visitor and staff elevators.

Monday–Friday hours are:

  • 6:30 – 9:00 a.m. for breakfast
  • 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. for coffee
  • 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. for hot lunch; grill open until 2:30 p.m
  • 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. for hot supper; grill open until 7:00 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday hours are:

  • 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m for continental breakfast
  • 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. for hot lunch; grill open from 11:00 – 2:00 p.m
  • 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m for hot supper and grill

Vending machines are located adjacent to the cafeteria in the atrium area and on various floors 24 hours a day for your convenience.

Great Habits Gift Shop located on the first floor near the Patient/Visitor elevators also offers light lunch items, popcorn, snacks, drinks, coffee and gifts.

  • Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Guest Trays

If you ask a friend or family to join you at mealtime, a guest tray may be requested from the unit clerk on your nursing unit (use your nurse call system) or from your nurse. A charge for guest trays will be placed on your bill and the price varies depending on whether it is breakfast or lunch/dinner.

Telephone Calls

To reach a patient at Seton Medical Center Austin, dial (512) 324-1000 and the operator will connect you with the patient. If you know the room number, you can dial it directly. The three-digit room number makes up the last three numbers of the phone number proceeded by 3241. For example, to call room #100, simply dial 324-1100.

Courtesy and pay phones are located throughout the hospital for your convenience. To place an outside call from inside the hospital, dial “9” and then the number. To call within the hospital, simply dial the 5-digit extension Ext.: 11771 or 47100. To reach the hospital operator, dial “0”. To place a long-distance call, dial “9”, “0 ” and the number. The operator will come on the line and connect you with your chosen long distance provider. International calls must go through the hospital operator.

Cell Phone Use

At Seton Medical Center Austin, we are continually seeking means to provide a safe patient care environment. Recent advancements in telecommunications technology have provided much convenience; however, some of these same technologies may interfere with the performance of advanced medical equipment. Accordingly, Seton must prohibit the use of cell phones in the following critical care areas: Emergency, Surgery, ICU, NICU, 3N/S, IMC, 4S, EP, Endoscopy and Cath Lab. Gift Shops

Seton Medical Center Austin Great Habits Gift Shop is located on the first floor next to the patient/visitor elevators.  The gift shop benefits the hospital and offers many unique gifts and everyday items for patients and visitors alike.
The shops carry flowers, snack food and drinks, balloons, cards, toiletries, over-the-counter medicines, books and magazines, as well as infant wear and gifts.
