Shila joined the Seton Heart Institute team in August 2016. Her nursing career started in May 2000. She earned a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, Texas in May 2013 and graduated with Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International.

A main focus of mine is educating and encouraging patients to live a healthy lifestyle. I feel that the patient-provider relationship should be one of mutual respect and collaboration. Through this relationship, patients should be empowered to take an active role in their healthcare plans and decisions.
