Dr. Briggs, epileptologist, is a board-certified, epilepsy fellowship-trained neurologist with a hospital-based practice and private clinic. She did her neurology residency and epilepsy fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She is an Assistant Professor of Neurology with the University of Texas Southwestern and the University of Texas Medical Branch. She evaluates and treats all types of seizures and epilepsy.
Dr. Briggs’ research interests include outcomes in status epilepticus and intensive care neuroelectrophysiology monitoring. She focuses her practice on Vagal Nerve Stimulator monitoring (VNS), treating seizures and epilepsy, providing epilepsy surgery evaluations, and EEGs. Dr. Briggs is thorough in her evaluations and assessments and takes special care to communicate openly and thoughtfully with patients and their families, working together to care for the patient.
Dr. Briggs is a member of the American Epilepsy Society, the American Academy of Neurology and both the Travis County and Texas Medical Associations. She has been with Seton Brain & Spine since 2008.
