During this fun and educational four day camp, each camper will be involved in activities that exercise their mind and body. They will have hands on experiences in a simulated hospital setting, the Clinical Education Center at Brackenridge. Located in the heart of the emerging medical district, this facility is equipped with the latest high fidelity patient simulation mannequins and is the same facility where current and future healthcare professionals are trained. The campers will be introduced to many of the patient assessment skills that trained healthcare professionals perform. They will practice taking blood pressures and listening to normal and abnormal heart and lung sounds. Participants will have the opportunity to become certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at no additional charge.
Goal: This camp will prepare tomorrow’s Healthcare Professionals today.
Target Audience: Middle and High School students (6th – 12th grade)
