The ABC's of Prepared Childbirth class covers essential information and prepares couples for the childbirth experience. This condensed class is a 7.5 hour course offered in a one or two day series.
The outline includes: Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, labor terms, stages and phases of labor, when to go and what to bring to the hospital, breathing, relaxation, comfort measures, pain relief options, interventions, procedures, medical support, what to expect in the hospital and options in childbirth, including information on inductions, cesarean birth and postpartum.

Offered exclusively at Seton Medical Center Williamson, this is a 1 hour safety course that teaches basic infant CPR; how to help a choking infant; how to assess the situation and call for help. This Family and Friends CPR course follows the American Heart Association guidelines.

The Newborn Care Class covers the basic care for the first 4 to 6 weeks of your baby's life, helping new parents transition from hospital to home!
The outline includes: Newborn appearance, reflexes and behaviors, hospital protocols and procedures, choosing a pediatrician, breastfeeding tips, burping, use of the bulb syringe, baby's daily care with hands-on practice, diapering, cord care, circumcision care, bathing, swaddling, dressing, comforting a crying baby, signs of illness and when to call the doctor, safety tips and parent resources as well as "The Joy of Parenthood" book which is yours to keep.
This curriculum is also included in the Comprehensive ABC's Prepared Childbirth class.
$15 fee per child. Recommended that children be at least 3 years of age. Please pay the instructor at the time of the class or pay online if enrolling online.
