Our Rehabilitation Team has worked closely for several years to blend the best practices traditionally associated with both chiropractic and physical therapy. This approach incorporates Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (McKenzie Method), spine stabilization, motor control training and functional exercise to treat conditions of the spine and extremities (i.e. shoulder, knee, ankle etc.). Assisted stretching and other manual therapies are also used as part of treatment to accelerate recovery. Our providers have a broad and diverse set of skills, and they are uniquely qualified to evaluate and treat musculoskeletal conditions.

What Sets Us Apart

Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy

The McKenzie Method of MDT is a reliable assessment process intended for many musculoskeletal problems, including pain in the back, neck and extremities. The assessment process provides information regarding directional preference that can be used to design exercises to minimize and reduce symptoms. This fosters self-management of symptoms by the patient.

Functional Restoration

Our focus is on you and your goals! We use active therapies, such as core stability, yoga stretches and extremity strengthening, to progress you towards functional goals that you set on day one. Our team works with you on future visits to customize your program and work towards those goals. Our providers are experts at movement analysis and teaching you how to restore functional movements to alleviate your pain and meet those goals.

We also treat extremity problems (shoulder, hip, knee pain). We can help with anything from normal arthritis pain to post-operative rotator cuff, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) or total joint replacements. We work with young athletes, as well as those who have been unable to exercise for years!

Post-Op Spine Care

Only a small percent of our patients actually require surgery. Our surgeons, physiatrists and therapists at SBSI specialize in spine pain, and several in scoliosis. We are well-equipped to work with all spinal surgeries. We have pre and post-operative protocols approved by your surgeon to assure consistent treatment and communication to help improve your outcome.
