Another risk factor for stroke is a high level of blood cholesterol. To avoid high cholesterol levels, it’s best to limit your intake of saturated fats and trans fats. These fats are found in animal products like cheese, egg yolks, meat and butter.
At the same time you’re reducing saturated fats, increase your intake of whole grains, fruits and veggies. The American Stroke Association suggests that eating five or more servings of fruits and vegetables per day could reduce the risk of stroke.
