Dr. Geck Performs Life-Saving Spine Surgery


vt8Ascension Seton orthopedic spine and scoliosis surgeon Dr. Matt Geck recently worked with the nonprofit SpineHope to perform a risky, life-saving operation for a Guatemalan teen who suffers from scoliosis and kyphosis that have curved her spine from front to back and side to side. During the surgery, Dr. Geck cut the girl’s spine in half, corrected the deformity, then reconnected her spine. Without the operation, the girl could have become paralyzed.
