Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit

The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit – also referred to as the PICU – is a specialized inpatient unit designed to care for patients in acute crisis who are at risk of harming themselves or others. The PICU is staffed at higher staff-to-patient ratios and is the most secure unit in our facility to keep patients as safe as possible.

Interdisciplinary teams of physicians, psychiatric-trained nurses, and social workers work with patients and their families on individualized treatment plans to provide patients with the best possible chance for recovery.
