Child & Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Program

Seton Shoal Creek Hospital’s Child & Adolescent Program offers an inpatient program for patients less than 18 years old who exhibit emotional and behavioral problems due to mental illness and/or substance abuse. Our interdisciplinary treatment team helps stabilize patients who require a controlled environment for healing and growth. We work with the whole family to identify and help manage behavioral and psychiatric issues. Our team of experts — independent psychiatrists, specially trained nursing staff, and licensed social workers — works with patients and their families to determine a treatment plan. After achieving stabilization patients may continue treatment through participation in one of our outpatient programs. For more information on our inpatient programs for children and adolescents, please call us at 512-324-2039 or contact us online.

The Seton Shoal Creek Child & Adolescent Inpatient Program includes:

  • Medical evaluation
  • Medication assessment and management
  • Treatment planning
  • Recreation, art, and music therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Insight-oriented group therapy
  • 24-hour staff presence
  • Discharge planning and aftercare referrals/recommendations

The program also includes education about medication, psychiatric disorders, and parenting for patients and their families.
