President and CEO, Insurance Services, Seton Healthcare Family, and Vice President, Insurance and Value Based Reimbursement, Ascension
Jeff Cook oversees negotiating managed care agreements with all managed care payers on behalf of Seton Healthcare Family and the Seton Physician Enterprise. In addition to these functions, he develops and manages Seton’s hospital pricing strategies. In the recently created Seton Health Alliance, an accountable care organization, Jeff is responsible for all aspects of development and operations. He added his Ascension role in June 2015.
With more than 18 years of senior managed care experience, Jeff has served in numerous roles throughout Texas, Colorado and Arizona. Prior to joining Seton in 2009, he held escalating positions within UnitedHealthcare including Texas vice president of Network Development and, most recently, chief executive officer of UnitedHealthcare in Texas. Jeff has a strong background in developing various forms of provider reimbursements such as global/partial capitation, specialty capitation and upside/downside incentive contracts. He has led various health plans to strong financial performance through managing premiums, creating innovative plan designs and strictly managing health care costs through various clinical redesign programs.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baylor University and a Master of Health Administration degree from Texas State University. He has served on various boards, including the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society, in the Austin and San Antonio areas.
