Vice President, Medical Affairs, South Market
Dr. Fausto Meza, a physician executive successful in fostering clinical and operational improvements, is vice president of medical affairs for Ascension Seton’s south market covering Hays, Caldwell and Bastrop counties. He is responsible for Ascension Seton Medical Center Hays in Kyle; Ascension Seton Smithville Regional Hospital; and Ascension Seton Edgar B. Davis Hospital in Luling.
He has been chief medical officer and physician lead for electronic medical record optimization with Resolute Health in New Braunfels and previously served as chief medical officer, chief medical information officer and hospitalist medical director for Doctor Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, Texas. He is board certified to practice internal and geriatric medicine.
Meza, whose graduate education is in public health and public policy and administration, founded Garcia Leadership and Advocacy Seminar (GLAS), a leadership and advocacy training workshop for national Latino medical student leaders, and Frontera de Salud, an organization active in three medical schools dedicated to underserved patients in impoverished areas of Texas.
He earned his Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) at Columbia University in New York; his medical doctorate at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas; and his bachelor’s degree in biology at The University of Texas at Austin. He is married to Dr. Michelle Meza and is the father of three children.
