Vice President and Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer
Dell Ascension Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas and University Medical Center Brackenridge, and Chief Nursing Officer, Ascension Seton Shoal Creek Hospital
Debra T. Hernandez joined Ascension Seton in 2013, bringing lengthy executive nursing experience in community and academic medicine settings. She was named Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at University Medical Center Brackenridge and Dell Ascension Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas in early 2015 and Chief Nursing officer of Ascension Seton Shoal Creek Hospital later the same year.
Before coming to Ascension Seton, she was with Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Columbus, Ga., where she served as senior vice president, Clinical Operations, and chief nurse executive. Prior to that, Debra was senior vice president, Patient Care Services, and chief nursing officer for the Stamford Health System. She also spent time at Duke University Health System’s Durham Regional Hospital as chief nursing and patient care services officer.
Debra received her Master of Health Administration from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, NC, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina. Currently, she is working on her Doctorate of Nursing Practice Executive Leadership.
