Become a SETON Volunteer; Join the SETON Family of Hospitals

Volunteers are an integral part of our care team at Seton Northwest.  The bulk of our volunteers are retired professionals who bring with them a diverse skill set and valuable life experiences to share.  Regardless of the background, all of our volunteers share a desire to give back to their community and what better place to do that than in a Seton hospital, a hospital system that has been serving the Austin area since 1902.

At Seton Northwest, we have 4 categories of volunteers…

  • Adults
  • College Students
  • Teen Students (only during the summer)
  • Virtual volunteers (crochet, knit, or pray)

Requirements to volunteer…

  • Complete online application by clicking on the link to the right.
  • Commit to a regular 4 hour shift each week. (8-12, 12-4, 4-8) or (10-2, 2-6, 6-10)
  • Commit to a minimum of 6 months of service. (applies to adults and college students)
  • Complete immunization requirements (MMR, TB, and Varicella)

Volunteers are needed in many clinical areas including Emergency, Day Surgery, Medical Surgery floors, ICU, and Mother-Baby.  Non-clinical areas of service include Gift Shops, Admissions Desk, Information desk, and HUMANCARE Shuttle Driver.  Our goal is to match your skill set and passion to a current need in our hospital.

If you love to crochet or knit, we invite you to join our Baby Blanket Brigade as a Virtual Volunteer!  Each bundle of joy born at Seton Northwest receives a wonderful blanket, knitted with love by one of our volunteers.  This is a great way to share your talent without having to come into the hospital.  We provide the yarn and you crochet or knit a lovely blanket for a sweet newborn.

We’d love to have you join our volunteer team!  For more information about volunteering at Seton Northwest, our contact information is below.
