The neuroscience specialists of the Brain and Spine Center are pioneers who travel across the landscape of movement and thought.  The talented healers at the Brain and Spine Center have distinguished themselves by offering leap-ahead procedures and techniques, conducting cutting-edge research, and receiving numerous professional awards and designations.

When the Brain & Spine Center opened in 2002, it was the first of its kind in Central Texas to provide state-of-the-art care for brain and spine disorders.

Five years in, the Brain & Spine Center offers leading-edge neurological care unavailable anywhere else in Central Texas.  Since 2002, the Brain and Spine Center:

• Has earned the Neuroscience Center of Excellence designation;
• Has earned the Primary Stroke Designation at both University Medical Center at Brackenridge and Seton Medical Center Austin (Seton Northwest Hospital will be reviewed early next year);
• Has created a comprehensive epilepsy program;
• Is performing stereotactic radiosurgery through the CyberKnife program;
• Has established the innovative Brain & Spine Recovery Center;
• Is conducting advanced research projects involving stroke, spinal cord injuries, vascular malformations and spinal cord implants.
