  • The hospital’s Community Services Program provides outpatient care for areas not served by MHMR centers.

Austin-Travis County Mental Health Mental Retardation Center

  • Serves mentally ill and developmentally disabled outpatients from Austin and Travis County.
  • Provides psychiatric emergency services
  • Population served: 600,000.

Capital Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic

  • Uses a private practice model and is staffed by the faculty

Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas

  • Serves Austin and Travis County patients both indigent and private; child and adolescent medical inpatient care; medical specialty clinics.
  • Average daily inpatient cases is 170.
  • Federal Correctional Facility at Bastrop, Texas
  • Forensic psychiatry experience with offenders with emotional, behavioral and substance abuse problems

Seton Shoal Creek Hospital

  • Serves private patients, local and out-of-city.
  • Child, adolescent and adult psychiatric inpatient services, and provides intensive outpatient programs.

Texas Child Study Center

  • A private outpatient child psychiatry clinic, staffed by interdisciplinary professionals

University Medical Center at Brackenridge

  • Serves Austin and Travis County patients, both indigent and private; emergency care, consultation and liaison, and medical/surgical adult inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Last fiscal year total number of visits (outpatient and inpatient ) was 131,421

University of Texas Student Counseling and Mental Health Center

  • Provides undergraduate and graduate students with psychiatric outpatient services.
  • Provides a primary care behavioral health clinic and mental health triage for outpatient treatment. Also treats substance abuse disorders.
  • Student population: 45,000.

Veteran's Affairs Outpatient Clinic

  • Outpatient facility for military service veterans and their families
  • Focuses on PTSD, mood disorders and psychoses
