General insurance benefits:  as an employee, residents will have access to a variety of benefit options that begin upon the effective date of the resident’s contract with the Austin Medical Educaiton Programs (AMEP).  The following benefits are offered under the pretax cafeteria plan or are a core benefit:

  • Life Insurance ( 1x annual salary)

Available benefits for resident and family (employee pays a portion of cost):

Library Resources:

  • Access to clinical library at University Hospital at Brackenridge and Austin State Hospital with and extensive collection of texts and journals on mental health, mental retardation, and developmental disabilities.  Full time librarians at both facilities (M-F)
  • Access to full-text online journal and textbooks through electronic resources.
