The University of Texas Medical Branch-Austin Neurology Residency program is new as of July 2007. We are an ACGME approved program. We will be accepting 3 residents per year. Our program has been designed from the ground up without many of the constraints that are inherent in long-standing institutions. This flexibility we believe has allowed us to create a unique learning environment that incorporates both academic as well as private-practice physicians such that the resident gets a broad, clinically relevant experience.
Though our program is based primarily at Brackenridge Hospital and the Brackenridge professional offices, training also occurs in Seton Medical Center, Academic Physicians at Trinity (a private practice venture), as well as VA clinics and other community-based private practice clinics. At each of these institutions, training is directed by dedicated general and subspecialty faculty.
Since both private practitioners and academic neurologists participate, the outlook is broad. The faculty offers significant specialty experience in areas such as Epilepsy, Cognitive disorders, Movement disorders, Stroke, etc… We have a strong symbiotic relationship with Neurosurgery and Interventional Neuroradiology and are part of Brain and Spine of Austin; a Neurosciences Center of excellence that offers comprehensive advanced neurologic care and promotes research through philanthropy.
The University of Texas Medical Branch-Austin Neurology Residency Program is small, flexible, personal, and dedicated to producing well trained clinical neurologists.

Seton is proud to have four hospitals – the only hospitals in Central Texas - that have earned the
