imageWelcome to UT Southwestern Austin's Dermatology Program, associated with the Seton Healthcare Family. Our new program started our first resident in January 2009 and we have been growing ever since. We are pursuing additional faculty at our University Medical Center and Veteran's Administration sites and have added Dell Children's Hospital to our rotations. We currently will match two residents per year.

Overall Educational Objectives

  • To train excellent clinical dermatologists
  • To improve the care of dermatology patients in the city of Austin and surrounding counties by expanding access to care, research and continuing educational activities for the larger medical community.
  • To prepare our graduating residents to enter into community practices, academic centers and fellowship opportunities.

Seton Healthcare Family, UT Southwestern and the University of Texas have begun a collaboration that includes post graduate medical education here in Austin. The plan is to increase the number of post graduate trainees in many programs substantially over the next few years. Austin is a great city and it we think will become even greater during this exciting time as the medical centers and the university partner for growth, development and innovation. Thank you for your interest in our program. We are accepting applications for our residency program via the ERAS system. Because we have a limited number of interview slots, please include a brief statement about why you are interested in the Austin program with your application. This would be most helpful as we plan for interviews.

Best wishes,
Jason Reichenberg, MD
Program Director
