Our Education Programs Can Help you Learn About
- Healthy Eating: carbohydrate counting, label reading, tasty recipes, and tips for dining out
- Starting an Exercise Program: safely starting an exercise program you can really live with
- Reducing your Stress: strategies for decreasing your stress
- Taking Care of Yourself: monitoring and understanding your blood sugar, tips for skin and foot care, and the importance of goal-setting
- Understanding Your Medications
- Reducing your risk factors for diabetes complications
Classes and Individual Sessions are Available:
Our lively classes include simple "how-to" tips and hands-on activities for adults with diabests. Class offerings include:
- Type 2 Diabetes (English or Spanish)
- Gestational Diabetes
- Diabetes Express Classes
Individual sessions are available for:
- Type 1 Diabetes
- Learning how to administer insulin or other diabetes injectable medications
- Pre-Diabetes
- Persons with complex regimens or special needs (patients who are elderly, have a learning disability, or who have a language barrier).

Support Group
Have questions and need answers? Learn and share with other people with diabetes, and their friends and family. Our monthly group is free and open to the community. You do not need a doctor's order or an appointment to be part of the group. Call for dates and times (512) 324-1891.
You Don't Have to Do It Alone
Your family and friends can support you living with diabetes. We encourage you to bring a friend or family member to attend your diabetes class at no additional charge.
Our staff is here to help, too. Our educators are specially trained to teach you about diabetes, and we truly care about your needs. the American Diabetes Association has awarded National Recognition to the Seton Diabetes Education program each year since 1995.
How to Sign Up / Insurance Coverage
Ask your doctor to send us an order for diabetes teaching. When we receive the order, we will call to set up your first appointment. Most insurance plans and managed care companies cover the cost of our programs. We are happy to discuss payment options for costs not covered by insurance.
