If you are over 45, have high cholesterol, and don't get proper nutrition or enough exercise, you may be at risk for Type II diabetes. Millions of people in the US are affected, more Hispanics than Caucasians, many of whom don't even know they have it. The Seton Diabetes Education Program deals with all aspects of the condition. We'll show you how to monitor your blood sugar, how to reduce stress, and set goals for improved diet and exercise. We'll teach you how to avoid complications of diabetes and how to deal with them if they do occur. We offer many support groups for you and your family as well as individual counseling for patients with special needs, both in English and Spanish.
Each year since 1995, the American Diabetes Association has awarded National Recognition to the Seton Diabetes Education program. Managing diabetes is a lifelong commitment, not just for the patient but for us at Seton as well, and our comprehensive program addresses the needs of patients and families with excellence and compassion.
