The Office of Research Facilitation provides guidance and support for Investigators and their staff. Our intent is to foster high quality, innovative, and ethical clinical research. Our most important objective is to ensure that patients’ rights are protected and that the benefits of the research study outweigh the known risks.
We are committed to promote advance clinical research excellence by sharing resources, and promoting and coordinating collaborative activities across different disciplines and Institutions. We continue to expand an education and training clinical research program that will strengthen research capability and also facilitate the development of new and innovative clinical research studies.
It is our aim to hold the research conducted within the Seton Healthcare Family to the highest level of scrutiny. Therefore, we follow the guidelines and regulations provided by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the International Conference on Harmonization and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that regulate the practice of human research in the United States. Administrative policies that cover the use and control of investigational drugs, investigational devices and emergency use of investigational products were developed through collaboration with the Medical Staff office, the Division of Medical Affairs, Seton Legal Services and the Clinical Research Facilitation Office.
