The Seton Healthcare Family is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) with Commendations.

This approval process is based on a thorough on-site evaluation and demonstrates that Seton complies with strict criteria set forth by the American College of Surgeons. The goal is to ensure patients receive the full scope of care to diagnose, treat, rehabilitate and support patients and their families throughout the cancer journey.

Receiving care at a CoC- accredited cancer program ensures that a patient will have access to:

  • Quality care close to home.
  • Comprehensive care, including a range of state-of-the art services and equipment.
  • A multispecialty, team approach to coordinate the best treatment options.
  • Information about clinical trials and new treatment options.
  • Access to cancer-related information, education and support.
  • Cancer registries that collect data on type and stages of cancers and treatment results and offers lifelong patient follow up.
  • Ongoing monitoring and improvement of care.

There are more than 1,400 CoC accredited cancer programs in the United States and Puerto Rico, representing 25 percent of all hospitals.
