Cancer Care Collaborative

Multidisciplinary Conferences

Seton Healthcare Family offers an innovative approach to treatment unlike anywhere else in Central Texas.

Through Multidisciplinary Cancer Conferences (MDCs), Seton connects a wide range of care providers – surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, dietician, research nurses, nurse navigators and other specialists – to review each patient’s case and develop  individualized treatment recommendation based on national treatment guidelines. The MDCs are conducted in a conferencing setting, with state-of-the-art videoconference equipment available for remote access. The conferences are held on a regularly scheduled day at locations throughout the network. Patients must be referred by their oncologist in order to have their case presented in multidisciplinary conferences.

Types of cancers reviewed in MDCs include:

  • Breast
  • Cutaneous malignancies
  • Gastrointestinal
  • Hepatobiliary/pancreatic
  • Malignant hematology
  • Neurological
  • Thoracic oncology
