General hospital visiting hours are from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm, although visiting hours may vary throughout the hospital. The Care Team and/or Security may need to modify visiting hours to ensure full care of each patient. Please call the individual nursing units for specific information. The Emergency Department is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.
The Seton League House is a bed-and-bath facility near Seton Medical Center Austin, providing families a nearby place to stay while loved ones are hospitalized. The League House offers overnight accommodations at reduced rates. Since the numbers of rooms are limited, priority is given to families of critically ill patients at network facilities, outpatients from Seton facilities, and then families from other Austin hospitals. A limited number of rooms may be available for persons having early morning medical exams or day surgery.
To register, please call (512) 324-1999, between 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. There is no registration after 6:00 p.m. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. A 2-person room is $35 for the first night stay and $30 for every night thereafter. A 1-person room is $30 for the first night stay and $25 for every night thereafter. You may contact the Seton League House up to one month in advance to place your name on the waiting list, or to make arrangements for a late arrival. You should call the day before arrival to check on room availability. Children under the age of 14 are not allowed, and please no pets.
Upon arrival please check in at the office on the ground floor. Check out time is Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Or you may drop your keys and payment in the drop box if the office is closed. Seton Medical Center Austin has two Information Desks to serve you. The ground floor Information Desk, located in the south lobby, is staffed Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., primarily by volunteers. This desk may be reached by dialing ext. 17782, or (512) 324-1000 ext. 17782 from outside the hospital. The first floor Information Desk is located just off the visitor elevator in the north lobby.
The cafeteria is located on the center of the ground floor at the intersection of a personnel hallway and visitor hallway both of which lead to the visitor and staff elevators.
Monday–Friday Hours are:
- 6:30– 9: 00 a.m. for breakfast
- 9:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. for coffee
- 11:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. for hot lunch; grill open until 2:30 p.m
- 5:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m. for hot supper; grill open until 7:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday hours are:
- 9:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m for continental breakfast
- 11:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. for hot lunch; grill open from 11:00 - 2:00 p.m
- 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m for hot supper and grill
Vending machines are located adjacent to the cafeteria in the atrium area and on various floors 24 hours a day for your convenience.
Great Habits Gift Shop North located on the first floor near the Patient/Visitor elevators also offers light lunch items, popcorn, snacks, drinks, coffee and gifts.

Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m
If you ask a friend or family to join you at mealtime, a guest tray may be requested from the unit clerk on your nursing unit (use your nurse call system) or from your nurse. A charge for guest trays will be placed on your bill and the price varies depending on whether it is breakfast or lunch/dinner.
To reach a patient at Seton Medical Center Austin, dial (512) 324-1000 and the operator will connect you with the patient. If you know the room number, you can dial it directly. The three-digit room number makes up the last three numbers of the phone number proceeded by 3241. For example, to call room #100, simply dial 324-1100.
Courtesy and pay phones are located throughout the hospital for your convenience. To place an outside call from inside the hospital, dial "9" and then the number. To call within the hospital, simply dial the 5-digit extension Ext.: 11771 or 47100. To reach the hospital operator, dial "0". To place a long-distance call, dial "9", "0 " and the number. The operator will come on the line and connect you with your chosen long distance provider. International calls must go through the hospital operator.
Cell Phone Use
At Seton Medical Center Austin, we are continually seeking means to provide a safe patient care environment. Recent advancements in telecommunications technology have provided much convenience; however, some of these same technologies may interfere with the performance of advanced medical equipment. Accordingly, Seton must prohibit the use of cell phones in the following critical care areas: Emergency, Surgery, ICU, NICU, 3N/S, IMC, 4S, EP, Endoscopy and Cath Lab. Thank you for your cooperation.
Seton Medical Center Austin's Auxiliary operates two gift shops, Great Habits North, located on the first floor next to the patient/visitor elevators and Great Habits South on the east side of the south lobby. Both gift shops benefit the hospital and offer many unique gifts and everyday items for patients and visitors alike.
Items can be ordered and delivered to a patient's room by calling 324-1591 (South) or Ext. 17779 (North). The shops carry flowers, snack food and drinks, balloons, cards, toiletries, over-the-counter medicines, books and magazines, as well as infant wear and gifts.
The South shop's hours:
- 8:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday–Friday
- 9:30 a.m. -6:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday.
The North shop's hours:
- 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday–Friday
- 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday.
There is also a baby boutique on the second floor adjacent to the patient/visitor elevators that operates various hours.
Automated Teller Machine (ATM)
An ATM is located on the ground floor near the cafeteria for your convenience.
