Seton Cove is an interfaith center for spiritual formation and renewal, with a focus on spirituality in the workplace. Inspired by the life and teachings of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, this center provides a welcoming place of solace and hospitality where people of any faith may nourish and foster their spiritual growth and discover a new relationship with themselves. Programs include luncheon reflections, individual and group direction, seminars and workshops, meditation groups, and day retreats, and are designed to act as an extension of activities provided by individual churches throughout Austin. Call 451-0272 for more information.
Consultations for ethical problems related to healthcare are available for patients, families or legal representatives. For further information or assistance, contact your nurse or dial 0 for the hospital operator and ask for a Chaplain or Patient Representative.
Chaplain Services may assist you with the completion of Advance Directives. They can be reached by dialing 41480 from a patient’s telephone. Of course, your own clergyman is always welcome.
The hospital chapel is located on the 1st floor and is available to all regardless of church affiliation. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Mass is offered Monday-Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m. The daily mass is televised on channel 10.
The Patient Representative facilitates the flow of services and promotes communication between patients, families, physicians and hospital staff. Assistance is provided to patient/families seeking solutions to hospital-related questions, concerns and problems. Questions will be answered, comments and suggestions listened to, and hospital policies and procedures explained. The Patient Representative is happy to assist patients and families with Advance Directive information as well. The Patient Representative can be reached from any hospital telephone by dialing extension 41122 or via the operator.
Social Workers are available to help you and your family deal with stress and anxiety that illness may create and will help you with any problems that may arise during your hospitalization.
