A good place to start
At Seton Shoal Creek Hospital we offer an inpatient program for patients up to 18 years old who exhibit emotional and behavioral problems. This treatment helps stabilize patients who require a more controlled environment for healing and growth. We work with the whole family to identify and help manage behavioral and psychiatric issues. After achieving stabilization, patients may continue treatment through participation in one of our outpatient programs.
Our team of experts, along with the patient and family, determine a treatment plan. The team includes an independent psychiatrist, a nurse and a licensed social worker — all dedicated to patient health. As the largest inpatient facility in the region, we are one of the only mental health facilities to have academic ties — resulting in a team committed to setting the standard for quality care.
Program includes:
- Medical evaluation
- Medication assessment and management
- Treatment planning
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy that is insight oriented
- Family therapy by physician order
- Educational programming to keep patients current with schoolwork
- 24-hour staff presence
- Discharge planning and aftercare referrals/recommendations
Education about medication, psychiatric disorders and parenting is available to patients and families.
Getting started is easy.
Each patient must have a “Level of Care Assessment” to determine eligibility for admission to the inpatient program. Although a physician’s referral is not necessary, physicians can make the admission process easier for patients by faxing forms and psychiatric evaluations. Contact Admissions at 512.324.2029 for orders and appropriate paperwork. For non-emergency care, insurance benefits will be verified and costs will be provided before treatment begins.
