Visiting hours are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Information Desk
The information desk is staffed with volunteers that can help you with a range of information.
Free Wireless Internet Access
Patients and other guests can use their personal laptops, PDAs or other handheld devices to connect to the Seton Family Access network and easily navigate to their favorite Web sites or e-mail accounts.
Patients, friends and guests can connect to Seton Family Access by following these steps:
- Start your laptop, PDA or wireless device (equipped with a wireless network card) and verify that it is connected to the wireless network Seton Family Access.
- If necessary, create a wireless profile using the following settings:
- Network Name (SSID) – Seton Family Access
- Network Authentication – Open Date
- Encryption – Disabled
- Launch your Web browser. You will see a page listing the terms of service that you must accept before use.
- Once you’ve accepted the terms of service, you will see a welcome page featuring Seton news and information. From the welcome page, you can browse the Internet.
If you experience problems, check to see that your wireless network card is 802.11a/b/g compatible. If problems with connecting to the Internet persist, please contact your hardware/software vendor.
Guest Accommodations: Seton League House
The Seton League House is a bed-and-bath facility near Seton Medical Center, providing families a nearby place to stay while loved ones are hospitalized. The League House offers overnight accommodations at reduced rates. Since the numbers of rooms are limited, priority is given to families of critically ill patients at network facilities, outpatients from Seton facilities and then families from other Austin hospitals. A limited number of rooms may be available for persons having early morning medical exams or day surgery.

Gift Shop
The Gift Shop is sponsored by the Seton Highland Lakes Auxiliary. Volunteers staff the Gift Shop and are always ready and eager to serve patients, families and hospital staff.
The Gift Shop features specialty gift items for all occasions including jewelry, candles, flowers, balloons and much more!
Hours are:
Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
The gift shop is located near the Outpatient Admissions Area.
Chapel Services
The Chapel is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is located in the Nursing Lobby.

Requesting Medical Records:
To receive a copy of your health information, an authorization to release medical information must be signed and dated by the patient or the patient's legal guardian. In addition, proper identification must be presented at time of request. Authorization forms may be obtained and submitted to the Health Information Management Department. The turn around time to receive copies of health information is two weeks.
Not all records are complete immediately after discharge. Some records are not complete until thirty days after discharge as they are awaiting dictation of history and physical, discharge summary, and operative reports.
Requestor's may be charged a fee to cover the expense in providing copies of health information. State and federal laws and regulations set these fees effective Sept. 1, 2001.
