Practice Makes Perfect: Simulation to improve Safe Patient Care?
Simulation can be used to improve and ensure patient safety. We will discuss the use of simulation to improve patient care in a multi-system healthcare organization.
2:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Breakout Sessions (Participants will have the opportunity to attend two sessions.)
- Session A: Transition from Academia to Practice: Simulation and Residency Programs
We will explore the proactive use of immersive learning environments to improve the transition of medical residents and nursing graduates into professional practice. - Session B: Learning Through Simulation to Improve Patient Outcomes
In this session, we will review specific initiatives and explore evidence and data showing the impact simulation can have on patient safety. - Session C: Simulate to Innovate: Opening Hospitals and Annual Comps
This session will illustrate innovative uses of simulation preparing for opening two hospitals and validation of clinical competencies. - Session D: The Benefits of Collaboration: Health Care & Academia
We will discuss collaborative approaches for using simulation between academia and clinical practice.
