Water Aerobics

Topic Overview

Water aerobics is probably the safest alternative to standard aerobics. It causes very little stress to your joints (low impact). The water provides resistance, so fairly simple movements result in a better workout than if they were done on land. There is no equipment to buy, but there may be class fees.

Water aerobics may be appropriate for people who:

  • Have joint problems.
  • Are overweight.
  • Are older.
  • Are pregnant.

When done properly, water aerobics is safe.
