Bio
Dr. Jessica Thompson received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She completed her psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. During her residency, she received several awards, including the Women’s Leadership Award. Dr. Thompson received additional training in psychoanalysis at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. Prior to moving back to her home state of Texas, she worked in several clinical positions in New York City, specializing in the fields of emergency psychiatry, eating disorders and substance abuse disorders.
Dr. Thompson holds appointments as Assistant Professor University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Clinical Assistant Professor Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor University of Texas Medical Branch.
She is currently involved in resident education in both outpatient and inpatient settings with the Seton Mind Institute and Seton Healthcare Family. Dr. Thompson maintains specific interests in psychotherapy and the treatment of young adults.
Dr. Thompson is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
