Bio
Dr. Sharma grew up in the Midwest (Tulsa, OK) and Southwest (Houston, TX ) He completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis where he majored in Chemistry and Biochemistry. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1992 and entered Medical School at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX that same year.
Dr. Sharma completed his combined residency training in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at the preeminent institutions of the Texas Medical Center; the broad scope of training included extensive experience in aesthetic surgery, breast reconstruction and augmentation, congenital and pediatric plastic surgery, lower extremity and facial trauma reconstruction, and hand and microsurgery.
An additional one year Orthopedic Hand Surgery Fellowship at the University of Washington Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine further developed Dr. Sharma's skills as a hand surgeon. Additional expertise gained in areas such as wrist pain and pathology, small joint and wrist arthritis, joint replacement, wrist arthroscopy, endoscopic carpal tunnel release, distal radius fractures and trauma reconstruction enabled him to become a well-rounded, yet keen specialist in hand surgery.
