Linda Govea Shaffer, M.D.

Bio

A Native of South Texas, Linda Govea Shaffer, M.D., has relocated to Austin to practice Pediatric Hematology Oncology.

Dr. Shaffer graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine after completing her undergraduate studies at Trinity University. She completed her pediatric residency training at Wilford Hall Medical Center, and her followship in Pediatric Hematology Oncology at the U.T.M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. She served in the USAF for four years as a pediatric subspecialist and was involved in considerable outreach efforts at Ft. Hood in Killeen. She comes to us from the faculty of the UTHSC San Antonio where she was the Associate Director of the South Texas Comprehensive Hemophilia and Thrombophilia Center.

The arrival of Dr. Shaffer will expand the current expertise of our group in Hematology especially in the management of coagulation disorders in children. This enhances our goal to provide comprehensive subspecialty healthcare services that meet the needs of all children within our community and throughout Central Texas.
