Jane Carolyn Nelson, M.D.

Bio

Medical School: University of Hawaii, Honolulu Internship and Residency: Medical College of Ohio, Toledo Board Certified in General Surgery Dr. Nelson specializes in contemporary breast care and breast cancer surgery and provides full diagnostic workups for women with breast conditions. She has specialized training in breast ultrasound and stereotactic biopsy techniques, as well as sentinel lymph node biopsy. Dr. Nelson uses techniques designed to minimize trauma to the patient and is committed to breast conservation whenever appropriate. Before becoming a surgeon, Dr. Nelson did research and taught college-level biochemistry and molecular biology. She is married, with two step-children, and spends her free time running, biking and swimming, (she participated in the 1997 Danskin Triathlon) and traveling.
