Bio
Dr. Munir is a board-certified neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist with fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular disorders. Dr. Munir completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston and a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Johns Hopkins University. He earned his PhD in Neuropharmacology from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he also worked as postdoctoral fellow for three years. Dr. Munir is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, and his research works have been published in a number of peer reviewed scientific journals and medical journals. Dr. Munir’s clinical interests include electrodiagnostics, neuromuscular disorders, movement disorders, and stroke. His research interests include mechanisms of neuronal degeneration and regeneration.
In addition to being a distinguished researcher, Dr. Munir continues to stay on the forefront of developments and treatments in the medical field, bringing his knowledge and expertise to provide the most viable and beneficial outcomes for patients.
Dr. Munir is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Texas Neurological Association, the Texas Medical Association and the Travis County Medical Society. He joined Seton Brain & Spine in 2011.
